Mother’s Day is such a special day dedicated to the women who make our lives special – be it your Mum, Mumma, Ma, Mummy, Auntie, Gran, Nanna, friend (who’s like a Mum), carer or guardian.
We show them our love and appreciation all year round but, on this day, let’s make an extra special effort to show them how much they mean to us!
All families are different so take the time to help your kids celebrate however they feel comfortable.
If you’re looking for ideas of what to do with your kids on Mother’s Day, here are some of our favourite activities that you can all share and make the day extra special.

Breakfast in bed
What a lovely way to start the day by having breakfast in bed. Let your kids help prepare breakfast and then take it back to bed for some extra special snuggles! It might be toast, pancakes, waffles or fruit – spoil yourself! Imagine you’re staying in a luxurious hotel and you’ve ordered in Room Service! Your kids will feel proud that they helped you.

Make a Homemade card
Kids love making things and being creative. You can make a lovely card to show your appreciation using everyday items that are kept around the house.
Gather up some coloured card or paper, child-friendly scissors, glue stick, crayons or colouring pens, glitter or paints. You can even cut images out of old magazines or wrapping paper – such as flowers, chocolates and heart shapes and re-use them by letting your child make their very own Mother’s Day card.

Connect with Nature
Wrap up warm and take a walk around a local park, nature reserve or countryside and enjoy the scenery together. Connecting with nature can restore our natural wellbeing.
Help your child collect fallen leaves, pebbles, flower petals, feathers etc and bring them home to make a special scrapbook or collage.

Pamper Mum
Take a break from phones and iPads, set up a beauty salon at home and treat Mum to some special pampering. It doesn’t have to break the bank either – Mum can put her feet up while the kids give her a manicure or pedicure, relaxing head or foot massage or run her a hot bath and let her relax.
