The friends are enjoying a star-gazing evening at Big Bear's den learning all about the solar system, until Grandfather Bear's telescope is accidentally broken. Will Big Bear ever be able to see the planets again?

BIG BEAR treats his friends to a star-gazing evening.  He loves the stars and planets and shares facts about the Solar System.  BIG BEAR says he’s been fascinated by space ever since Grandfather Bear told him all about it…

He points out some of the constellations, including Ursa Major – also known as the Great Bear!  Everyone takes a turn looking at the planets through Big Bear’s ancient telescope; nearest first in order of their distance from the sun – Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

The birds get over-excited zooming around and accidentally knock over the telescope!  BIG BEAR is upset the telescope is broken and wonders how he will ever see the planets again… ROSIE has an idea of how they might just be able to make him first BEAR in space!

Will and Holly’s house is turned into a “space station” and they make an astronaut suit out of tin foil.  ROSIE tells BIG BEAR it’s time to go on a voyage across the universe…  The birds fly past with torches and lanterns representing shooting stars, while RAGGLES and HOLLY move painted “planet” balls around on poles.

BIG BEAR is delighted – he even does a little “moon walk”!  ROSIE tells him they couldn’t have done it without all the things he taught them. He’s not just Big Bear – he’s their GREAT Bear!
